how an herbal consultation works

Locust Light Farm

Hi there,

A few days ago I let you know that I have new herbal consultation options available.

60-minute consultations are available for complex or chronic health issues.

30-minute consultations are available for simple health issues or ask-me-anything style chats.

Here's how a 60-minute consultation works:

  1. Schedule your appointment.
  2. You'll be directed to fill out paperwork and send me any relevant labs or diagnostic info.
  3. At your consultation we'll talk about your entire health picture, from how well you sleep to how happy you are at your job. We can get as spiritual as you like.
  4. Within 5 days I'll send you a full protocol that includes herbal formulas, lifestyle and dietary recommendations, and plant magic or ritual recommendations (if you're into that.)
  5. You buy your herbs (I'll help with this).
  6. In a week or so I'll email you to make sure you've started your protocol and it's going smoothly.
  7. You can follow up via email if you have questions, or you can schedule a 30-min follow-up call.

Here's how a 30-minute consultation works:

  1. Schedule your appointment.
  2. On the call, ask me anything! (within reason).
  3. I'll give you as much advice/guidance/recipes as I can within 30 minutes.
  4. We chat, then the call ends. That's it.

30-minutes calls are great for questions like:

  • Where should I go next in my herbal studies?
  • I have this business idea... any advice?
  • I have a health issue that's not a huge deal but it's been bothering me for a while and I want to solve it with herbs. What can I do about it?

Have something you want to talk about? Let's put a chat on the calendar.

Feeling good for the moment? Save this page for when something comes up.

Also, for local folks, I just put two more plant walks on the calendar: September 21st and September 28th. Join me!

Herbalism for your real life.

Herbs can make your life better. I can show you how. I teach herbalism to beginner and intermediate herbalists, both online and in my classroom in Stockton, NJ. I'm also the Herbal Pharmacy teacher at David Winston’s Center for Herbal Studies, where I teach clinical herbalism students to make medicinally potent preparations. I emphasize deliciousness in herbal preparations and only measure ingredients when I absolutely have to. I love crosswords, cozy mysteries, and searching for gnomes in the mossy crevices along the nearby creek.

Locust Light Farm Hi there, Did you have a chance to check out Herbs for Resilience yesterday? It's a free class that's a sample of my program Herbs for Living. After nearly a full year, I've revamped Herbs for Living and I'm excited to introduce it to you. Herbs for Living will teach you herbalism + personal ritual to support you through life's big feelings. Locust Light Farm want to add herbal tools to your resilience tool basket? Hi Reader, Every time I teach this class, the topic feels more relevant than ever. I hate that. Yes, I can zoom out and focus on how we're collectively growing and broken systems need to collapse etc., but mostly I wish that we weren't amid war and climate catastrophe and mass extinction and general unsafeness. I want everyone to be safe. Even for those of us who are generally safe, it's hard to be navigating life...

Locust Light Farm Hi friend, I've been updating my "Herbs for Resilience" class in preparation for announcing my new-and-improved Herbs for Living course. It's surreal to be writing about resilience as I see pictures of the devastation throughout the southeastern U.S. No amount of herbs can prepare you for your home being destroyed. When I follow my daughter around in our yard, I scuff my feet into the dusty soil. We've been in a drought since June, and I've been praying for rain. I had been...
